The sequel to Shazan, "Shazan! Fury of the Gods", debuted at a low level at the box office all over the world, compared to the hero's first movie. The film hit theaters nationwide on March 16.
It may not come as a surprise to many, but the sequel to Shazan opened with a global box office of US$ 65.5 millionwhere US$ 4 million in Mexico and US$ 3 million in the UK. When compared to the first film, the figure is 32% less in Mexico and almost 40% in the UK.
In Brazil Shazan! Fury of the Gods raised R$ 8.5 million at the weekend when he took first place.
What would explain the 'failure' of the sequel? Well, the portal Deadline says there is a disconnect between Shazan 2 and DC fans. The site also said that after the COVID-19 pandemic, viewers in China have cooled down in relation to Hollywood productions, despite "Avatar: The Way of Water" is an exception in the country.
