Following in the footsteps of its 'big brother', the sequel to Avatar has already entered the top of the worldwide box office. This Sunday, the 8th, 'The Way of the Water' overtook 'Jurassic World' to become the 7th highest-grossing movie.
Still playing in theaters, 'Avatar 2' is on the rise and, for the fourth week in a row, at the top of the US box office. With more than US$ 1,7 billion, 'The Way of the Water' left behind 'Jurassic World', which grossed US$ 1.67 billion.
After 10 years since the biggest film in history, James Cameron, director of the Avatar franchise, says he's excited about the next films, which are already in progress and have a date set for release.
'Avatar 1' made US$ 2.847 billion profit. Released in 2009, the film achieved the feat of revolutionizing and bringing technological advances to the film set. In Brazil, Avatar was the first 3D release in cinemas.
