After the Universe: why does everyone cry watching this movie?

There are many thrilling films that will move even the least sensitive of people, if only a little. After the Universe, the new Netflix production, is a clear example of this; most people who watch it cry.

After the Universe is a national production and features Giulia Be, Henry Zaga, João Miguel, Othon Bastos e Leo Bahia in the cast. The romance and drama covered in the two-hour movie, directed by Diego Freitas.

The movie is about the life of Nina, a talented pianist who has to deal with lupus, an autoimmune disease that attacks her kidneys. As Nina watches her dreams fade away between hemodialysis sessions while she waits for a transplant, she is surprised to meet Gabriel, one of the doctors caring for her.

The message the movie conveys and the soundtrack together make people emotional and dehydrated.

According to Diego Freitas, "the great purpose of the movie is to bring encouragement to people after such a difficult period for everyone. In life, we have a lot of problems that are going to happen and there's no way out."

Synopsis After the Universe

Nina (Giulia Be) is a talented pianist who has to deal with lupus, an autoimmune disease that attacks her kidneys. She sees her dreams being lost between hemodialysis sessions and waiting for a transplant. However, the young woman is surprised to meet Gabriel (Henry Zaga), one of the doctors who is part of the team caring for her, and who will help her face her insecurities and fight for her goal of playing in the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra.
