Netflix catalog: Check out the movies coming out in October

It's October and Netflix has recently released its catalog for the whole month. New series, films and documentaries will be available on the streaming service and we at MadeInQuiz have put together a list of everything that's to come.

1 One Man

A film directed by Cláudia Jouvin and released in 2014 arrives on Netflix this Monday (October 3).

Synopsis: One Man

Arnaldo (Vladimir Brichta) is a man who is unhappy in his marriage and at work. To try to solve his problems, he goes to a clinic that promises to copy people to free them from their miserable lives. With a clone to take his place, he could start a new life, but when it comes to the radical procedure, there is doubt as to whether this is what he really wants to do.

2 The Life of Togo

2022 film directed by Israel Adrián Caetano and starring Diego Alonso, Catalina Arrillaga and Néstor Prieto. The original title Togo arrives on Netflix on October 5th.

Synopsis: The Life of Togo

In The Life of Togo, drug dealers are taking over the streets of Montevideo and extorting the street car workers into working for them. But one of them, Togo, will go to any lengths to protect his territory and his neighbors from violence. Defending his honest livelihood, he will try to mobilize forces so that the caretakers are not forced to take part in the drug-selling scheme.

3 Mr. Harrigan's Phone

Based on a short story by Stephen King, the movie tells the story of a boy and a billionaire who share a love of books and their first iPhone. Mr. Harrigan's Phone opens on (5) October.

4 A Very Lucky Girl

Based on a book by Jessica Knoll, A Very Lucky Girl has Mila Kunis, Finn Wittrock and Connie Britton in the cast and opens on October 7th.

5 Wife for Hire

Premiering on October 11, this Brazilian comedy features Caio Castro, Thati Lopes and Patricya Travassos.

6 Times of Peace

Directed by Daniel Filho, this 2009 film starring Tony Ramos, Dan Stulbach and Daniel Filho hits the Netflix catalog on October 12th.

April 18, 1945. For years, hundreds of people were tortured by the Getúlio Vargas regime, but with external pressure at the end of World War II, several political prisoners were freed. Segismundo (Tony Ramos) is a former officer in Vargas' political police force who now fears that his victims will take revenge. He works as head of the immigration section at Rio de Janeiro's customs house, and his job is to prevent the entry of Nazis. During a regular check, he interrogates Clausewitz (Dan Stulbach), a former Polish actor who was sent to him by a subordinate for reciting Carlos Drummond de Andrade. To convince him that he's not a Nazi, Clausewitz has to use all his acting talent.

7 The Curse of Bridge Hollow

8 Xingu

A 2012 film, Xingu has Caio Blat, Maria Flor and João Miguel in the cast and opens on (October 17) on Netflix.

9 The School of Good and Evil

10 Girl of the 20th Century

In 1999 - the last year of the 20th century - 17-year-old Bo-ra finds her first love. Bo-Ra is best friends with Yeon-Du, who goes to the same school. Yeon-Du has a crush on Hyun-Jin. She asks Bo-Ra to find out all about Hyun-Jin and goes to the US to have heart surgery. After that, Bo-Ra begins to observe Hyun-Jin closely and she falls in love with him. A sweet, pure but heartbreaking relationship. Years later, in the 21st century, news of her first love revives the teenage romance she thought she had forgotten.

11 The Night Nurse

Directed by Tobias Lindholm, The Night Nurse premieres on October 26th on Netflix.

Based on the thriller book of the same name by Charles Graeber, the movie tells the electrifying story of the pursuit of Charlie Cullen, a nurse who was identified as one of the most dangerous serial killers of all time. Leading an apparently normal life with his wife, Charles, the "Angel of Death", worked in several hospitals and allegedly murdered around 300 people over the course of his sixteen years in the business.

12 After the Universe

13 Wendell & Wild

14 Nothing New on the Front

Nothing New at the Front is an adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's novel of the same name, directed by Edward Berger, and opens on October 28th.

Nothing New at the Front is a story that follows teenager Paul Baumer and his friends Albert and Muller, who voluntarily join the German army, driven by a wave of patriotic fervor. But this is quickly dispelled when they face the brutal reality of life at the front. Paul's prejudices about the enemy and the successes and failures of the conflict soon throw them off balance. However, in the midst of the countdown, Paul must keep fighting until the end, with no goal other than to satisfy the high command's desire to end the war with a German offensive.
